In This Episode:

4:00

Natural ways to heart health are good nutrition and lifestyle choices.

Conventional medicine is not the answer. Doctors are resistant to this often for financial reasons—the pharmaceutical industry being one factor major.

7:12

What makes a holistic cardiologist?

Pills and procedures VS lifestyle changes. Finding what the cause is.

7:53

What is the natural way to heart health?

Follow the Top 10 Health Commandments. Most issues are due to poor nutrition, environmental pollutants, lack of sleep, stress, lack of sunshine, lack of physical activity, lack of physical manipulation (specifically chiropractic care).

8:56

What does your paleo pyramid look like?

2/3 raw to 1/3 cooked foods. Greens drink for breakfast; big salad for lunch; some raw and cooked vegetables for dinner.

10:00

How does a raw diet affect your teeth?

It can be hard to eat raw foods if your teeth are breaking down. That’s why it’s important to take care of them! Sunshine can help strengthen teeth; artificial/synthetic lights breaks down teeth.

11:20

Try and spend at least 20-30 minutes in the sun per day. Don’t get a sunburn though!

12:30

If you’re in a cold area and have to stay covered up, try to get your vitamin D through healthy foods–animal products, eggs, organic meats, etc.

14:20

If you’re trying to eat organic / non-gmo foods, what do you do when you eat at a restaurant?

It’s not easy. You have to call ahead or it takes some preparation to find local grocers and restaurants that serve those things, but it’s worth it for you and the planet. I frequently travel with my own superfoods and powders.

16:50

Supplements VS. Prescription medication

Medical doctors are not trained in nutrition, lifestyle, or the use of evidence-based supplements, despite loads of evidence they work. Get the highest quality product possible; don’t just buy the cheapest kind at the local pharmacy.

21:29

If you have diabetes, problems with libido, thyroid disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders, etc., look no further than what you’re eating. Health issues happen for a reason and the job of a medical doctor and a holistic doctor is to find out all those reasons and get you on the right path. Everyone is different. Not everyone needs to take 100 different supplements.

24:20

What’s your advice for someone getting in shape for their 40th year high school reunion?

Follow a strict paleo diet; consider water, bone broth, or juice fasting for 24, 48, or 72 hours. Get as much sun and sleep as you can.
